Job Description:
Xcel Energy is seeking a dedicated and driven PR Associate to join our team in Nelson, NZ. As a PR Associate, you will be responsible for managing public relations activities, creating and distributing press releases, developing and maintaining media contacts, and assisting with the development of communication strategies.
Responsibilities: - Develop and implement public relations strategies to promote the company’s brand and enhance its reputation - Write and distribute press releases, news articles, and other materials to media outlets - Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts - Coordinate and manage media inquiries and interview requests - Monitor and analyze media coverage and prepare reports on PR activities - Assist with the planning and execution of events, press conferences, and other PR initiatives - Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency in messaging and branding - Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in public relations
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field - Minimum of 2 years of experience in public relations or related field - Proven track record of successful PR campaigns and initiatives - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills - Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PR software tools - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Must be driven and dedicated to achieving results
