The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join our Christchurch-based team in a part time position.  This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the end-to-end finance operations of a growing international business and to build you commercial finance acumen.
  
 The Role

We are looking for a highly focused Accountant to join our small busy team.  Reporting to the Group Financial Controller you will be part of a team responsible for all accounts administration. 

The key focus of this role is ensuring the accuracy of accounts.  Your main responsibilities will include:

1. Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
2. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports for management review.
3. Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
4. Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
5. Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance department.
6. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

About You

• CA/CPA qualified Accountant (or working towards your qualifications)
• Ideally over two years’ experience within an accounting or finance team
• Highly developed communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail with great numerical, analytical and excel skills
• Be well organised with a proven ability to meet deadlines and great time management
• Proficiency in Xero would be advantageous
• Be positive and motivated
• Open to change and enjoy looking for ways to improve processes

What we Offer

• This is a part time role, based in Christchurch.  The position is for 15-25 hours and there may be an opportunity for this to be increased in the future if desired.
