Our client is a successful NZ owned and operated business who are well known in the kiwifruit industry for their successful orchard management and harvest operation. You’ll be joining a small team based in Te Puke, where you’ll support their finance function and will report directly to the Business Manager.
We’re on the lookout for a finance coordination guru – someone who has expertise in finance systems and administration and can offer support to the business manager by taking ownership of some of the finance function responsibilities.
Key responsibilities will include: - Managing all aspects of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and taxation
- Utilising payroll and accounting software to complete tasks and maintain accurate records
- Monitoring Aged Payables and Aged Receivables and taking a proactive approach to supplier and client communications.
- Overseeing and finalising payroll: approving weekly payruns, processing payrun bank payments, IRD payday filing, paying PAYE and Withholding tax.
- Developing, maintaining and reporting-on both Organisational and Orchard budgets.
- Delivering accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting to the management team. Including cashflow, P&L, tax and notable patterns, trends or concerns.
- Continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service levels within the finance and admin team.
The successful candidate will:
- Ideally have 5+ years in a similar Accounts / Accounting Technician position
- Have a tonne of initiative – this role is busy and it’s imperative that the person can think of their feet and juggle a busy workload
- Experience in Xero or similar and advanced Excel skills
- Have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Have a willingness to learn and pitch in wherever needed
- Have a great attitude with excellent ability to multitask
- Be a competent communicator - with both written & verbal
- Have flexibility – this is working with a small team – minimum 10 hours per week but it may fluctuate at times between 10-15 hours
