We currently have an interesting Analyst, Policy and Insights opportunity available in our Central Wellington office.
This is a part time role working 15 hours per week. Due to the nature of the role, there may be times where flexibility of hours is required.
The Analyst, Policy and Insights plays a crucial role in Retail NZ's strategic direction and policy framework. This entails managing research projects, providing valuable data and insights, conducting business analysis, developing and managing policy, and drafting submissions to ensure the organisation remains relevant and informed.
The key purposes of this role are to:
- Manage research projects undertaken by Retail NZ;
- Gather and synthesise data to uncover trends, opportunities, and challenges in the retail sector, and ensure that the Chief Executive is briefed on emerging trends;
- Conduct thorough analysis of retail industry trends, performance metrics, and economic indicators; and
- Prepare submissions on policy issues.

- Experience in delivering high quality quantitative and qualitative analysis;
- Proficiency in research, analysis, and providing sound advice on complex issues;
- Understanding of government processes and policy development;
- Strong relationship management and project management skills;
- Ability to think strategically;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Effective planning and time-management skills;
- Advanced IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office tools and survey platform management;
- High attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to work under pressure;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Adaptable and able to pivot to changing needs
- Able to understand problems and efficiently find solutions
