Associate SENCO (Years 7-13)

Due to roll growth, we have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Associate SENCO (Years 7-13) on our Senior Campus. This is a permanent part-time (0.8 FTE) position, with full-time negotiable depending on additional subject strengths.

Located on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast of Auckland, KingsWay is a high achieving, growing, state integrated Christian school catering for Year 1-13 students, with a current roll of 2000 students.  Our staff are supportive and collaborative, and our work is inspired by love/aroha, heartened by faith/whakapono in Jesus Christ, and motivated by gospel hope/tūmanako. 

About the job

Reporting to our Director of Learning Support, you will join a passionate and committed group of staff, working to support students with a diverse range of learning and behaviour needs.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Coordinating support for students with identified learning and/or behavioural needs.


• Liaising with staff, whānau, and external agencies (e.g., RTLB, Ministry of Education, therapists).


• Managing and maintain records for students with special education needs.


• Developing and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other learning plans.


• Assisting with transition processes for students entering or leaving the school.


• Contributing to staff professional development in inclusive practices.


• Promoting a positive, inclusive school culture for all learners.

The successful applicant will:

• Be a NZ registered teacher with a current practising certificate.


• Have experience in working with students with diverse learning needs and a demonstrated commitment to inclusive learning practices.


• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.


• Enjoy building positive relationships with students, staff, and whānau.
