Bessie - Senior Bar Team

The Role

This is your chance to unlock the drinks master and entertainer within! Here at Bessie most of our clientele go to the bar before they start their dining experience; this is where you come in! You will provide banter, charm and drinks whilst hosting our guests before they dine; you have a big impact on the overall experience. 

We are looking to hire a part-time bartender for our busy restaurant in Christchurch. We are offering permanent Sunday and Monday shifts, with the potential of picking up Friday and Saturday shifts also if you are keen. 

Your main responsibilities include:

• Greeting (and charming!) customers, often our dining customers get sent to the bar before they dine and there first interaction will be with you so its super important you feel confident striking up a yarn. 


• Making, serving and selling cocktails, coffees, shots, bottled, mixed drinks and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages


• Setting up the bar for busy periods and completing the opening / closing systems including cleaning and maintaining bar service areas
  


• Promoting products and upselling


• Washing glassware, arranging bottles and glasses as well as tapping kegs and attaching supply lines


• Assisting the sales manager as required


• Come Friday and Saturday night, you will head upstairs to our exciting garden bar, Engineers, and rock out a late night!

Skills / Experience
We are looking for an energetic, flexible and hard working candidate. You have a track record in hospitality and are looking to take things to the next level. When starting out with us you will become and pro on the bar and/or floor and if willing and keen we will progress you into the management team and take you through all the training required.
