Job Description - Brand Experience Assistant - Part Time
As a Brand Experience Assistant at Cloudy Bay Vineyards, you will be an integral part of our customer experience team, helping guests connect with our iconic wines and the story behind them. In this part-time (20 hours per week) role, you will assist in the smooth operation of our brand home, ensuring that every visitor leaves with a memorable experience.
You will support the planning and execution of events and private tastings, ensuring a seamless experience for all guests. You will be conducting wine tastings and provide insightful information about our wines and vineyards. You will work closely with the team to ensure effective communication and a warm, welcoming environment.

Your day-to-day will include:
Customer Experience and Cellar Door
Meticulously set up and break down tastings for various groups and individuals (VIP, Trade, Cellar Door, and Private Experiences)
Assist in delivering a range of hosting and tasting experiences, providing exceptional customer service
Prepare, serve, and maintain Cellar Door platters
Process sales transactions for wine, gourmet food items, and branded merchandise
Proactively recommend and upsell wines, menu selections, and food-wine pairings
Support guided tastings in the tasting room, showcasing in-depth knowledge of Cloudy Bay wines
Maintain the tasting room's presentation
Provide attentive and high-quality food and wine service during hosted events
Organize and execute setup and breakdown for on and off-site lunches and dinners
Manage hospitality tableware, linen, and provisions, including inventory management
Support preparations for large group visits, including setting up dinners, lunches, on and off-site tastings, and excursions
The Shack Guest Experience
Serve as the main point of contact for all matters related to the Shack guest accommodation
Prepare and provision The Shack to ensure it is guest-ready for arrivals, including occasional weekend work as required
Prepare for and oversee all guest check-in and check-out processes
Organize and manage all cleaning and laundry services
Work closely with the maintenance team to manage the building maintenance
To be successful in this position, you will have:
Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays, evening or dinner service as required
A strong passion for wine and knowledge of New Zealand wine regions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in hospitality or customer service roles
The ability to engage with guests from diverse backgrounds
A positive, friendly demeanor and a team-oriented mindset
Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required
Legal rights to work in New Zealand
Previous experience in wine tasting or tourism is a plus
