Chef Bay Venues

Haven’t heard of Bay Venues? Chances are you’ve visited one of the places we operate – Clubfit, Baywave, or Mercury Baypark, just to name a few.

As the kaitiaki of 25+ facilities across Tauranga Moana, we create spaces where our community can connect, have fun, and enjoy memorable experiences. We’re now looking for a passionate Chef to join our café team.

About the role

As our Chef, you’ll help deliver great food experiences across our Tauranga café locations, supporting both daily café service and occasional events.

You’ll work alongside our kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure food is prepared to a high standard, delivered efficiently, and enjoyed by our customers.

• Minimum 20 hours per week


• A mix of daytime café shifts with occasional evening and weekend event work


• Opportunities to work across multiple venues

About you

You’re someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen, takes pride in your food, and values being part of a supportive team.

• At least 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen


• A passion for cooking and high food standards


• A good understanding of food safety and hygiene


• The ability to stay calm and organised under pressure


• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, or events when needed


• Reliable transport to travel between venues

Bonus points if you have:

• Café or high-volume production experience


• Baking skills


• A relevant chef qualification or Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
