Who are we looking for

We have a 9-month fixed-term opportunity for an incredible Customer Delivery Officer to join our team in Ngaaruawaahia. If you have a passion for our community, the ability to instantly build rapport with anyone, and thrive on providing exceptional customer service, this may be the role for you!

The purpose of this role is to deliver effective support to our community, with focus on delivering exceptional customer service as the interface between Waikato District Council and its customers. As part of this role you will have a range of varied tasks including front-of-house and library services, as well as being an ambassador for our district.

Ideally, you'll live locally, have at least 2 years work experience in a customer focused environment and have strong interpersonal skills. You'll be a self-starter that really enjoys working in an engaging team environment, focused on supporting our customers and have a "can do" attitude.

You will need to commit to 3.5 hours per week working Saturday mornings at our Ngaaruawaahia Library, 9am - 12:30pm with two team members. You will be expected to support our customers to find and borrow reading, audio and visual material, navigate our systems to take electronic payments and provide assistance using our technology including printing and scanning facilities.

Our team also provides counter services at our Ngaaruawaahia Council office, the Tamahere Community Hub, and, other Library/Council sites across the district, as needed. Where possible, there may be opportunities to learn council centric processing which can enable you to provide cover for more of our sites, if desired.
