Who we are

Waka Pacific Trust owns and operates Due Drop Events Centre and Vector Wero Whitewater Park in Manukau. Through these businesses and facilities, the Trust provides financial resources, venue spaces and expertise which support school and community programmes designed to celebrate, transform and enrich people's lives.

We are the only Events Centre offering a schools programme that includes workshops and activities designed to deliver extensive arts, culture, drama, music and dance experiences to children. The schools programme also collaborates with many high-profile entities including the Royal New Zealand Ballet, the Manukau Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra to provide customised experiences for children and adults with special needs.

The Vector Wero Whitewater Park schools programme teaches moving-water safety and drowning prevention to children and youth with the mission to make our programme available to every student of South Auckland during their school education.

In 2023, we successfully engaged over 110,000 students and youth in our discounted or free programs, surpassing our initial target by two years. While we take pride in this achievement, our commitment remains steadfast as we aim to support 120,000 students and youth through our programmes by 2025.

The Role

Our Ideal candidate is an organised and energetic person with great communication and interpersonal skills that have the following:

• Experience working with children.
• Must have a strong interest and experience in social media and marketing.
• Have a good working experience with photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and MailChimp.
• Have high attention to detail and strong time management.
• Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must be friendly and have an approachable attitude.

Some of your responsibilities would include:

Education

• Receive and process school bookings through email and Rezdy (our booking system).
• Send required documents to teachers and respond to enquiries.
• Liaise with tutors and teachers one month prior to activity and send reminder one week before workshops/activities and ensure they are provided with updated workshop schedule and information.
• Help draft venue hire contracts or sponsored hire agreements for the manager.
• Coordinate and collect feedback from teachers using our feedback form.
• Ensure the Community Good Report is up to date with the required information.

Marketing

• Help design and create marketing and communication collateral.
• Help manage Due Drop Events Centre and Vector Wero Whitewater park websites and social media accounts.
• Manage and maintain an active social media presence and respond to comments whether positive or negative.
• Coordinate the production of marketing and advertising campaigns.
• Ensure we have a photographer and/or videographer at school workshops and activities.
• Manage photo and stock archive in the hard drives.
• Help draft and design brochures.
• Research on market trends, competitor products.
• Help manage database and send email communication and updates via MailChimp.
• Monitor and interpret Google and Facebook analytics.
