Job Description - Finance Manager - Part-Time

Aktive is seeking an experienced part time, Finance Manager, who is keen to utilise their skills and experiences to help our small but mighty organisation realise our bold aspiration of making Auckland the world’s most active city. The Role

Is there a better part time, executive level finance role in the market? We think not. As our Finance Manager you will be working three days a week, as part of a high performing, passionate Executive Team. You’ll be providing strategic financial and commercial advice to the Chief Executive, Executive Team and Board in order to maximise resource utilisation and support the achievement of our organisational goals.

Key responsibilities include

  • Leading collaborative planning processes to deliver robust and accurate budgets and forecasts, aligned to strategic priorities. 
  • Managing efficient day to day financial processing including accounts. payable, receivable and payroll.
  • Processing month end procedures and associated reporting.
  • Managing audit requirements and processes.
  • Ensuring control environment and financial systems and policies are robust.
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory regulation, tax and accounting standards. 
  • Leading our Audit and Risk Committee processes ensuring all reporting is produced to a high professional standard and in a timely manner. 


The Ideal Person
We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • A CA qualification.
  • Over 10 years of experience in leadership or senior-level finance roles.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical expertise in financial reporting, including budgeting, cash flow management, and forecasting.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • An ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines. 

Expertise in Xero is essential, and being Xero certified is a definite advantage.
