Job Description - Financial Mentor Supervisor

About the role



Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is entering a new season of change, and we’re looking for an experienced and certified Financial Mentor Supervisor to help bring our refreshed services to life.



This newly created role is a unique opportunity for someone who is looking for a fixed-term position, for 6 months, working part-time, 30 hours per week. Whether you're seeking a short-term role or offering your expertise as a consultant, we’d love to hear from you.



As a seasoned Financial Mentor Supervisor, you’ll provide expert guidance, collaborative support and professional supervision to our dedicated team of Financial Mentors. You will coach and equip our team to become signed off and competent Financial Mentors. You will embed best-practice and empower our Financial Mentors to deliver high-quality financial advice to clients navigating money chaos in Aotearoa.



Key areas of responsibility include:




  • Provide training and support to ensure Financial Mentors In Training, become certified Financial Mentors

  • Ensure Financial mentors are confidently embedding knowledge and skills from training

  • Monitor, assess and evaluate casework of newly trained Financial Mentors

  • Ensure newly trained Financial Mentors are supported through their provisional period, in line with industry expectations

  • Support team with any development gaps

  • Work alongside stakeholders to provide training and advice where needed

You’ll also bring relevant experience for the role:




  • You will be an expert in the Building Financial Capability Sector with 3+ years in a similar role

  • 2+ years' experience working in a client-centered service delivery and non-profit

  • Proven experience as a certified Financial Mentor and Supervisor

  • Demonstrable and strong experience of all FMIC competencies

  • Excellent relationship building and people skills

  • Excellent attention to detail  

  • Able to problem solve and to operate with a solutions-focussed approach  

  • Strong experience providing guidance, coaching and constructive feedback

  • Strong experience influencing stakeholders to improved ways of working
