Fixed Term Lifeguards - Part Time

This role sits in the Council’s Community Group, which comprises of community focused services such as Hamilton Pool, Parks and Recreation, Hamilton City Libraries and the city’s three main visitor attractions.

Are you ready to make a splash this summer? We're on the lookout for energetic, responsible, and water-loving individuals to join our team as Summer Lifeguards! 

What You’ll Do: 

• Keep swimmers safe by monitoring pool activity and enforcing safety rules 

• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies 

• Provide excellent customer service to pool users 

• Assist with pool maintenance and cleanliness 

• Support fun summer events and programs 

This role will allow you to gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment and have the potential to make a real difference in your community. The fixed term contract will run from 28 October 2025 to 29 March 2026. You will need to be flexible to work any day between Monday – Sunday. • Strong swimming ability and a calm, confident presence 

• A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain) 

• Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certification (preferred – training available for the right candidates) 

• Great communication skills and a team-player attitude 

• Availability over the summer period, including weekends and public holidays

Hourly starting rate is $28.95 dependent on skills and experience.
