Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
Reporting to the BNZ Foundation Board of Trustees and GM Corporate Affairs, this role leads the Foundation’s strategy, delivery, and governance to create meaningful, enduring impact for communities across Aotearoa New Zealand.
We sat down with our GM Corporate Affairs, and he let us know the following about the role:
What are some of the key responsibilities the role will own?
Lead the operational management of the BNZ Foundation, aligning the strategic direction of the Foundation with the philanthropic guidelines set by the Foundation Trust
Drive the implementation of grant programs and ensure effective development and oversight of a portfolio of projects, measurement of impact and outcomes, and reporting internally and externally
Build trusted and respectful relationships with community partners and a diverse community of internal and external stakeholders and enhance the contribution of the BNZ Foundation to the philanthropic sector through expertise and thought leadership
What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?
To be successful in this role, you will have 10 years + experience in corporate giving / philanthropy, strategy, leadership and program delivery.
You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, develop and maintain relationships, both internally and externally. Your deep knowledge of the NZ philanthropic sector and understanding of charitable governance and grant making practices, theory of change and impact assessment will also be key.
Other skills required include:
Ability to create, manage and execute strategy
Strong project management skills
Strong financial acumen with a good understanding of financial investments, including impact investments.
Subject matter expertise in sustainable development, community and societal issues and corporate giving / philanthropy
