Histology Laboratory Technician - Part-Time

Are you a qualified Histology Laboratory Technician looking for your next role with a reputable New Zealand owned and operated company? We are looking for someone to join our close-knit team to deliver high quality histology laboratory services. You might be experienced and capable or qualified with some experience and a keen willingness to learn from our current team. 

To be successful in this role, you'll be solutions focused and always looking for improvements in process and delivery. You will have experience in cutting frozen sections and familiarity with operating a cryostat.

Key accountabilities:

• Carrying out accurate and timely pathology testing ensuring processes followed meets all current testing protocol.
• Orientate, ink and freeze tissue.
• Develop the service and quality pathways related to pathology testing at the Skin Institute.
• Competent with IT and learning new systems is important along with excellent attention to detail.
• Maintains professional development and competencies required for your annual practicing certificate.
• Participates in multi-disciplinary forums and management forums.

A Relevant tertiary health care qualification is required and previous experience in the health care sector would be advantageous.

Hours of work 

We have some flexibility with the hours of work, but expect this to be 3 days per week.
