Houseperson

ibis Wellington:  Wellington’s largest economy hotel within walking distance to the capital’s largest venues, Takina, Te Papa, TSB and Sky Stadium. This robust hotel offers consistency and efficiency for large groups with generous vibrant Vivant restaurant dining spaces, offering a big buffet breakfast, and a la carte lunch and dinner.

As a Houseperson, you’ll play a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring our hotel runs smoothly and efficiently. From maintaining public and back-of-house areas to supporting the Room Attendants, your work will directly contribute to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.

• This role involves heavy lifting and manual handling so a high level of fitness and strength is required.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across front and back of house
• Assist with linen delivery, removing waste, and supply restocking
• Respond to housekeeping and guest service requests promptly and professionally
• Report maintenance issues and ensure safety standards are upheld

This is a part-time position (minimum of 32 hours per week) working on a rotating 7-day roster, with a wage of $25.42 per hour.

• Previous housekeeping, public area, or cleaning experience (preferred but not essential)
• A team player with a positive attitude and great attention to detail
• Someone physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Availability to work across a rotating 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays
• Takes pride in maintaining clean, welcoming spaces
• NZ citizenship, permanent residency, or a current and valid work visa/permit. (immigration visa support or sponsorship is not available with this role)
