🍴 Internal Opportunity – Pastry Chef (Bay Catering Team)



Bay Venues’ Bay Catering team is looking for a creative and reliable Pastry Chef (part time, 20 hours) to join us in delivering top-quality catering experiences for our clients and guests.



This role will see you preparing and presenting delicious dishes for a variety of functions and events, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. You’ll work alongside our talented catering team to bring events to life and create memorable experiences for our customers.

1.       ROLE SUMMARY


The purpose of this role is to support the Executive Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen. Responsible for ensuring excellence in hygiene standards and consistent quality in daily food preparation.

  1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Principal Accountabilities


Menu Planning



  • To assist the Executive Chef with the design and compilation of all food service menus and provide accurate recipe costing’s.


Staff Management



  • To deputise in the Executive Chef’s absence by running the kitchen delivery service

  • Conduct regular training with kitchen staff

  • Ensure all staff are dressed in accordance with BVL policy


·         Daily brief is provided for all appropriate staff


Food Preparation & Standards




  • To ensure that all menu items are produced in accordance with recipes, menu costing’s and portion control is adhered to.

  • To ensure that all menu items that are produced for service are checked for quality, presentation and correct temperature.


Stock Management



  • To conduct stocktakes as requested.

  • To ensure that all accidents and breakages are recorded accurately and correctly

  • To ensure that sufficient stocks of all material are stored correctly, securely and under the correct conditions.

  • To ensure that all inwards/outwards goods are correctly documented


 


Food Hygiene Standards



  • To ensure that all hygiene and cleaning rosters are strictly adhered to.

  • To ensure that all areas under your supervision satisfy the most stringent hygiene requirements.


Other



  • Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by your manager



Health and Safety



  • Comply with all Bay Venues Health and Safety policies and procedures

  • Work in a manner that ensures the safety of self and others

Qualifications



  • Level 4 National Certificate in Hospitality (Professional Cookery).

  • Level 5 National Diploma in Hospitality (Kitchen Management)

  • 8+ years experience

Technical Skills/Competencies




  • Ability to manage a multi outlet facility

  • Great time management skills

  • Proven communication skills with strong English comprehension.

  • Attention to detail.


 


·       Catering industry experience, specifically for large functions
