Investment Adviser Assistant/Paraplanner 

Location is flexible across Queenstown, Dunedin and Central Otago.

Join our boutique financial planning and investment advisory firm, renowned for delivering personalised services to high net worth individuals, families, and trustees. We are currently seeking an experienced Investment Adviser Assistant/Paraplanner to join our team.

In this role, you'll be deeply involved in organising, coordinating, and leveraging a range of administrative skills. Success in this position demands an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, coupled with impeccable communication skills and adaptability to various technology platforms.

About the Role

  • This is a dynamic and diverse role where you can truly make your mark.
  • Support our investment adviser by assisting with a wide range of administrative tasks.
  • Take proactive steps to support existing clients and cultivate new business opportunities, including client onboarding and maintaining client records.
  • Prepare initial drafts of advisory documentation, such as investment plans and Statements of Advice, ensuring compliance standards are met.
  • Process client transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Manage all email and phone inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Oversee compliance assurance efforts to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Utilise various software applications including CRM and investment platforms to manage client data and transactions.
  • Coordinate and manage various client events.
  • Liaising with auditors and external providers 

About You

  • Ideally, you have experience in a similar role or possess strong client service or relationship management skills in investment planning, wealth management, or banking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a professional demeanor and a commitment to delivering high-quality advice.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in formulating wealth and investment advice documents.
  • Familiarity with investment administration platforms is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of AML/CFT regulations and financial advice compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance protocols.
  • Enthusiastic about learning and finding solutions to challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Exceptional computer literacy and data entry skills, with an ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and software.
  • Tertiary qualifications preferred, and completion or pursuit of Level 5 in financial services is advantageous.
