About the Role:

At Summerset, we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional dining experience for our Care Centre residents and their guests. To support our newly implemented food strategy—aimed at enhancing mealtimes and overall enjoyment—we are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant who has a genuine passion for quality service. This is a part-time role with the following set hours: Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm. There may also be opportunities to provide additional cover for the broader team during periods of leave or illness.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a busy, hands-on role that requires energy, teamwork, and attention to detail. Your duties will include:

• Following all aspects of the Food Control Plan to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met
• Cleaning kitchen surfaces, washing dishes, and removing rubbish
• Assisting the Chef with unpacking and storing stock deliveries
• Supporting the Chef with basic food preparation tasks

You’re friendly, approachable, and bring a positive, can-do attitude. You’ll also have:

• Strong communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a close-knit team
• Excellent customer service skills to help create a warm, welcoming environment for residents and guests
• The ability to follow instructions and support the Chef with efficiency and care
