About the role | Mō te tūranga:
Our Christchurch laboratory is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a permanent, part-time Laboratory Technician to join the Microbiology Department. 

A Laboratory Technician with microbiology experience is preferred; however, consideration will also be given to training someone with the right skills, preferably with a science background. This position is 48 hours per fortnight, ideally 8 hours Monday, Tuesday and Friday but we are open for negotiations with the right candidate. There will be participation in a Saturday morning roster once fully trained.

• Ability to absorb, evaluate, and respond to information and ideas in a positive manner.

• Ability to work well under pressure and safety and quality conscious.


• Ability to organise, prioritise and focus on daily work to meet turnaround times


• Preference for candidates with microbiology experience, but open to expertise in other related areas.


• Continuous improvement mind set.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Excellent computer skills.


• Flexibility to work additional hours when required.


• Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook
