Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant is passionate about optimising financial operations and reporting to drive business growth in the SaaS industry. As a Management Accountant, you will be involved in managing and refining revenue recognition processes, analysing key SaaS metrics, conducting cost analysis, providing strategic financial support, leading budgeting and forecasting processes, enhancing internal controls and compliance, and evaluating process improvements and system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and refine revenue recognition processes across different product lines and international markets to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Analyse and report on key SaaS metrics such as Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), churn rate, and average revenue per user (ARPU).
  • Develop revenue forecasts and performance reports to identify trends, assess business health, and guide strategic planning.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis and monitor operational expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with department heads to manage and optimise budget allocations and spending.
  • Provide profitability analysis by product, customer, and market segments.
  • Assist in financial modelling and analysis for new projects, pricing strategies, and capital investments.
  • Support the Finance Manager in preparing for quarterly board meetings and investor updates by providing financial insights and projections.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and regular forecasting updates, incorporating real-time data and market conditions.
  • Enhance and maintain internal control systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Key Qualification:

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (CPA, CA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a management accounting role, with significant exposure to revenue management and financial analysis ideally in a technology or SaaS company being benficial
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;
  • Must have full working rights to work in New Zealand
