Medical Receptionist

Normans Rd Surgery is a high quality general practice in Strowan, Christchurch. We are a busy, fast paced, family friendly practice priding ourselves on our great team environment and patient care. 

We have a position available for a permanent part time Medical Receptionist for 23 hours per week.
We are seeking someone with a friendly and professional manner who is capable of working calmly under pressure, especially during our very busy times.

The hours of work for this role are

Wednesday 8am to 5.30pm

Thursday 1pm to 6pm

Friday 8.30am to 6pm

The successful candidate will be available to cover other reception team members in times of sickness, annual leave or in times of other practice initiatives.

Duties include

Greet and Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner

Be our first point of contact in person, phone and email

Making appointments for patients, accurately

Answering and managing phone calls in a calm and friendly manner

Invoice and process payments from patients

Manage and record information accurately into MedTech 32.

Manage patient enrolments and transfers

Liaise with other practice staff with effective communication

Manage information accurately and efficiently, confidentially

The successful applicant will 
Have exceptional customer service and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Be energetic, organised, efficient, reliable and flexible.
Have great teamwork skills with a positive can do attitude. 

Be well presented, friendly and approachable.

Have a sense of humour.
Previous medical reception or Healthcare assistant experience is preferred but not essential.
