The National Advisor role presents a unique opportunity to drive the strategic and statutory objectives of the New Zealand Boarding Schools Association. This position calls for a strategic mindset, excellent relationship management skills, and a comprehensive understanding of New Zealand’s education context to significantly enhance boarding school standards and practices nationwide.
Reporting to the NZBSA Executive Committee, this is a permanent part time (30 hours per week) role. The successful applicant will work from home and have the ability to undertake national travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic and Financial Management:
- Prepare the annual budget for executive approval and manage financial administration with timely reports and reconciliation using Xero.
- Undertake all invoicing and reconciling
- Ensure accurate financial reporting for NZBSA events, memberships, and sponsorship activities.
- Prepare quarterly reports for the Executive in relation to annual objectives and key performance indicators.
Marketing and Relationship Management:
- Oversee the publication of the 'Sign In' (year book/magazine), maintain the NZBSA website, and enhance the NZBSA brand nationally and internationally through effective social media use and participation in relevant conferences and sector engagement.
- Manage sponsor relationships, including contract maintenance and the pursuit of new sponsorship agreements.
Member Services:
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to member schools, ensuring regular contact and fostering membership growth among non-member schools.
- Coordinate, promote and ensure quality delivery of professional learning and development opportunities for member schools
- Manage the NZBSA scholarship, service and awards programs.
- Promote and manage Tiaki Taiohi (online learning programme)
Event Management:
- Organize and oversee the NZBSA conferences, PLD days and online learning, ensuring meticulous planning from venue selection to post-event reviews.
- Manage all aspects of event logistics, speaker arrangements, and sponsor interactions.
Executive Administration:
- Facilitate executive meetings, including minute-taking, agenda-setting, and travel arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with the constitution and legal obligations of the NZBSA.
