Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are seeking a Night Supervisor to join our team, working rostered night shifts in our student residences. This vital role ensures our students feel safe, supported, and part of a positive community.
You will be the first point of contact for residents needing pastoral care or well-being support during the night. While this isn’t a traditional security role, you’ll lead on health, safety, and security, making sure protocols are followed, emergencies are handled, and first aid is provided when needed.
When not responding to incidents or patrolling, you’ll be responsible for completing general administrative and coordination tasks.

This is a part-time, permanent position working night shifts.
The hours of work are 11pm – 9am. You will work an average of 30 – 35 hours per week.
Shifts are rostered to alternate on a weekly basis and weekend work will be required.
Remuneration: $55,300 - $69,600 (pro rata for part time hours), depending on skills and experience.
Training: We provide full training, including first aid, mental health event management, and basic security.

We’re looking for candidates who are empathetic, passionate about student well-being, and capable of handling challenging situations independently. While you’ll be working alone during shifts, remote support from the team will be available.
This role is ideal for those night shifts to fit their lifestyle, and we’ve found it to be a great fit for people with experience in pastoral care, student-focused roles, mental health services, social work, youth work, residential care, hospitality or even those considering a career as a police officer.
