Bay Venues …. Haven’t heard of us? Not to worry; I bet you have heard of some of the venues we own or operate – the iconic Mount Hot Pools, Baywave, or Mercury Baypark to name a few. As the kaitiaki of 24 facilities in Tauranga Moana, we proudly offer a range of activities and experiences intended to put a smile on the dial of our community.

We are hiring part-time Lifeguards at Greerton, Baywave & Mount Hot Pools! 3 roles available. Join our fun, supportive team and make a difference!

Part-Time Lifeguard Roles – Set Shifts Available 

We have three part-time positions available with set shift times at our aquatic facilities: 

• Greerton: Sunday 11:00am–6:30pm & Monday 5:00am–1:00pm 

• Baywave: Monday (alternating AM & PM) & Sunday 6:15am–2:45pm 

• Mount Hot Pools: Saturday (alternating AM & PM shifts) 

As part of our friendly and dedicated aquatics team, you’ll be responsible for keeping our customers safe while they enjoy the water. You’ll actively patrol the pool, engage with patrons, promote safe swimming practices, and help maintain a clean, welcoming environment. 

Occasionally, you may assist with reception duties and help monitor water quality and plant operations. You’ll also be well-prepared to respond to any emergency situations. 

We offer opportunities to gain valuable, transferable qualifications including: 

• First Aid Certificate 

• Emergency Management 

• Water Quality & Chemical Handling 

• Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC) 

You'll work alongside a supportive team that’s passionate about making a positive impact in the community. 

To succeed in this role, you must: 

• Swim 200m in 6 minutes or less 

• Be able to stand and walk for extended periods 

• Be a committed, proactive team player 

• Maintain a professional demeanor and stay calm and clear-headed during emergencies 

• Be passionate about swimming and the community pools 

• Hold, or be willing to obtain, a First Aid Certificate 

• Having a valid Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC) is preferred but not essential—full training will be provided 

• Can do attitude, team player and willing to learn and develop skillsets.
