We have a part-time role available in Auckland for a fun, energetic and positive person who will strive to help our Tāngata (people) with intellectual impairments to maximise their potential.
We are on the lookout for a passionate, committed individual who is willing to work with Tāngata to support them through the social housing process to secure their own homes/or in the residential homes of the Tāngata, providing support to their aspiration to live independently in the community. Some Tāngata may have challenging behaviours, and may require minimal personal cares.
The Tāngata we support go to different activities during the day, and as such, this role may involve split shifts (early mornings/late afternoon and onward), in addition to weekend and sleepover shifts. We require someone with full availability to work all shifts.

Te Roopu Taurima, Choice in Community Living is a community participation service providing a variety of individualised recreational, leisure, social and living skills programmes to assist people with intellectual disabilities to fully participate in their community and lead fulfilling and productive lives.
This is a great role where you have the opportunity to affect another person’s quality of life, enabling a better life now and in the future. You will be working closely with specific tāngata in their whare.

You will bring maturity, life skills and effective problem-solving skills. A commitment to tikanga Maori and the ability to incorporate this in daily work is essential.
