Part-Time Medical Receptionist - Collaborative Environment

We are a small medical practice in Māori Hill Dunedin. We provide a comprehensive range of primary care services to our patients. We are looking for a part time receptionist to join our busy reception team. 

Work hours required are:

Approximately 20 hours a week in the main reception

Wednesday  8:30am to 5:00pm  

Thursday 12:30pm to 5:00

Friday  8:30am to 5:00pm

(No weekends or public holidays.)

The person we are looking for will have 2 years experience in a multi faceted phone and front counter role. 
 

You will have:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can think on your feet. 
• Empathy for people
• The ability to maintain confidentiality with patient information
• Be accurate and a quick learner
• Have the ability to build strong rapport with team members
• Good time management skills 
• Competent computer skills
• Be self-driven and take initiative
• Flexible and able to cover other staff for sick leave and annual leave

This is a busy, demanding and often stressful role. 

Welcoming patients to our clinic, managing phone and front counter enquiries. 

• Answer phones and emails
• Ensure the front reception and waiting room is clean/tidy
• Excellent engagement, communication, and motivational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a busy and demanding environment dealing with conflicting priorities that require a high-level analytical problem-solving skills.
