Job Description - Patient Service Representative


The opportunity: Te whiwhinga mahi 


We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Patient Service Representative to work three - four days per week with required availability on Mondays in our Patient Access Centre (PAC)


 


The Patient Access Centre (PAC) works on behalf of multiple medical centres to ensure patients receive exceptional service. As a key member of our call centre team, you will manage inbound contacts and scheduling appointments.

To be successful you must be:



  • Customer-focused approach: Provide a welcoming and professional experience for patients, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and compassionately.

  • Strong communication skills: Confident in verbal and written communication, able to engage effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.

  • Ability to handle sensitive situations: Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while assisting patients with medical inquiries, bookings, and concerns.

  • Resilience and empathy: Capable of managing difficult conversations with care and composure, supporting patient needs while maintaining personal wellbeing.

  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment: Efficiently managing high call volumes and appointment scheduling with strong organisational skills. Adept at multitasking, ensuring responsiveness and accuracy under pressure.

  • Strong problem-solving skills: Ability to think critically and provide effective solutions to patient and practice needs.

  • Experience in customer service or healthcare administration: Previous experience in a similar role (non-medical) is preferred.

  • Proficiency in technology and data entry: Familiar with Office 365 applications (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Outlook).
