About the role | Mō te tūranga: 
We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team in Dunedin, supporting the Awanui Group. This is a permanent, part-time position of 48 hours per fortnight. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date payroll records. Your strong analytical skills and keen eye for detail will be essential in ensuring smooth and efficient payroll operations.

We’re seeking someone who can work independently, takes pride in accuracy, and is comfortable navigating complex payroll systems.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Manage and maintain accurate payroll records.

  • Prepare and distribute reports as required.

  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.

  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts.

  • Assist with the year-end payroll process.

To be considered for this role you will need to:



  • Proven experience in a Payroll Officer role or a similar payroll/accounting position.

  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Proficiency in payroll software (PayGlobal) and systems.
