We are recruiting an experienced part-time Payroll Officer to commence with us in a permanent capacity.
The Payroll Officer is a sole-charge role overseeing the payroll application (Datacom) and payroll processing activities on behalf of Waikato-Tainui, being the key contact for all payroll-related queries. You will manage between four and five payroll groups for Waikato-Tainui, ranging in frequency from weekly, fortnightly, and monthly processing schedules. The Payroll Officer will also support the completion of annual audit activities at the end of the financial year. In this role you will bring your expertise to support the development of our payroll processes, guidelines/systems and be a source of technical advice when it comes to payroll processing, calculations, and holidays legislation.
The role will report into the People & Culture Manager and be part of the wider Operations Team who are responsible for the efficiency of systems and processes across the entire organisation. Ultimately ensuring that we have the right tools, systems, and resources to support our teams to deliver on our commitments to marae and tribal members.

This is a permanent, part-time (22.5 hours per week) position where applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand. We can discuss the flexibility of workdays and location during the interview stage. Our payroll processing typically occurs on Tuesdays.
