Nature of the role / te āhuatanga o te tūranga 

We are seeking an experienced, organised, and dynamic Processing Supervisor to lead, train and oversee a volunteer team in our newest charity shop in Ruakākā. This role oversees the efficient and effective processing of goods, systems, procedures, and stock management. 

Anticipated opening is early July, the shop will stock clothing, shoes, bric-a-brac, jewellery, accessories, art, and books. Operating Tuesday to Saturday, the shop will also be representing the link between the Ruakākā community and the services our nurses and volunteers have provided for over 30 years in the area.

You will be part of a focused and ambitious retail team, working to support our charitable fundraising to:

• Manage and process second-hand donated goods to maximise sales.
• Manage waste limitation and reduction.
• Create a friendly, supportive, and quality volunteer team with the Retail Volunteer Coordinator.
• Support the processing of donations for our other North Haven Hospice stores.

The days and hours of work are 8.5 hours per day Tuesday to Friday, and 5.5 hours on Saturday.

To be successful in this role you will have experience in a retail supervisory role, excellent communication skills and the ability to proactively work with a range of people. 

You will be:

• Able to contribute as part of a team but also comfortable making decisions and working autonomously.
• Organised with good attention to detail and process.
• Creative, outgoing, and sociable.
• Professional in your working manner.
• Willing and able to uphold the values of North Haven Hospice. 

Previous experience working with volunteers or in the not-for-profit sector would be desirable.
