Qualified Teacher - Early Learning Centre, Palmerston North - Part-Time

About the role

Due to roll growth, we are looking for a fantastic Teacher to join our lovely team. This role is suitable for a qualified and certificated teacher to work in our home from home teaching space, who has passion, experience and motivation for teaching. The role is a permanent 37.5 hour week role. We have a small license of 38 tamariki including 5 under 2s.

You'll bring your experience to assess, plan and implement a curriculum for tamariki that reflects current approaches to effective teaching and learning.

Start date is as soon as possible so we will be reviewing applications as they come in.

Key responsibilities

• deliver a curriculum aligned to Te Whāriki
• plan, implement and evaluate a learning programme that is responsive to the strengths and interests of children
• promote learning opportunities which are inclusive, equitable and culturally responsive
• document children's learning and take responsibility for children's profile books and e-portfolio as agreed with the centre professional leader

Skills and experience

You will be an outstanding, passionate teacher who is energised and excited about engaging with children. To undertake this role you will have:

• Knowledge and understanding of current early childhood education theory and practice
• Excellent communication, planning and organisation skills
• The ability to use initiative and a commitment to quality practice standards and the principles of Te Whāriki
• Excellent communication skills and a "can-do" attitude
• Enthusiasm and a strong desire to make a difference to children in their early years, while building strong links with their whānau and families.
