Our Unit is seeking a Registered Nurse passionate about working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment! We have a fixed-term position available from July 2023 – January 2024 working 16 hours per week.
We seek experienced, passionate, and driven registered nurses to join our vibrant, innovative nurse-led Assessment Planning Unit (APU) team. You will join a skilled and knowledgeable nurse team aiming for high-quality patient care. The position is based at the Tauranga Hospital.
The Assessment Planning Unit (APU) is a dynamic, fast-paced, and busy unit providing assessment and treatment for acutely unwell patients admitted by their GP, plus patients admitted from the Emergency department. APU consists of a 24 bedded assessment and planning area and 8 ambulatory chairs, also known as the Ambulatory Care Unit. Working in APU at Tauranga Hospital, you will be part of a highly-skilled and supportive team of 65 staff members who manage a unique variety of health conditions presenting at our provincial hospital. This is an exciting environment in which to develop excellence in nursing assessment and planning skills, with the support of the APU staff.
Furthermore, to provide a liaison service for our frail older adults admitted to APU, we also have a dedicated team called the PARIS team in APU that, with input from multidisciplinary team members, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Social workers, and Gerontology Nurse Specialists provides Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) based care for the frail older adult.
