Job Description - Registered Nurse - Older Persons Health Service | Burwood

0.4FTE permanent position in Ward D1 on night shift

Must have a current NZ Nursing Council Registration and APC

Based at Burwood Hospital

Mō te tūnga | About the role

Weare looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team in the Older Persons HealthService Ward D1 at Burwood Hospital. This service specialises in those patients withgeneral medical and surgical conditions requiring further rehabilitation postevent. Your ability to work well under pressure within a multidisciplinary teamalongside your excellent communication skills and flexibility to work rotating,rostered shifts is imperative to your success in these roles.

WardD1 is a 24 bed unit under the Older Persons Health umbrella, specialising inthose patients with orthopaedic injury or post orthopaedic surgery. We have astrong inter-disciplinary focus with a passion for rehabilitation.

You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with a current NZ practicing certificate

You will be a confident practitioner with exceptional patient assessment skills

Enthusiastic, motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage a wide variety of people, is paramount in this role

Your strong patient advocacy alongside clear communication style and the aspiration to contribute to the health care of the elderly will see you succeed in this role

You will exhibit compassion, good communication and organisational skills as well as sound assessment skills

Burwood Hospital is a close-knit, friendly facility that forms part of Te Whatu Ora – Waitaha [Canterbury] situated near Burwood Forest on the outskirts of Christchurch Central. Along with 11 inpatient wards, we also have a busy Out Patient Department; 4 theatres with an Admitting Unit and PACU. Our Spinal Unit is one of two located in New Zealand and between the two busy units deliver a National Service.
