The Prostate Cancer Foundation of NZ works to provide a comprehensive portfolio of support services accessible to all men diagnosed with prostate or testicular cancer, their partners and their whānau anywhere in NZ. A key member of the Support & Education Team, the Remote Support Lead will work to develop and deliver the services that that the charity delivers remotely (as opposed to in person) to patients, families and others via online and other means.
This is a 20 hour a week role and is based at our office in Albany, Auckland. Days worked can be flexible for the right person.
Some at-home working at times is possible with this role when necessary and with prior written agreement. Some ‘out of hours’ meetings and overnight travel may be necessary.
The broad goals for this role are to:
Specifically, this will involve direct responsibility for our prostate and testicular Information Service to men through our 0800, online and email enquiry channels, the coordination of our email-based Prostate Cancer – Patient Empowerment Programme (including recruiting and inducting men onto the programme and liaising with our Canadian partners), the oversight of our Counselling Service (provided through our delivery partner, Raise Mental Health) and our Online Forum, as well as developing and managing a programme of Virtual Support via online means and administering our Welfare Grant service.
