Senior Accountant

We are a medium-sized Dunedin Accounting Firm based in South Dunedin, with a mix of commercial & agricultural businesses from all over the South Island! At least half of our clients are farming families including our Managing Director and those same family values flow through to our firm.

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our tight-knit team, working alongside our Managing Director and Accounting technicians, in a relaxed and fun environment!

Key responsibilities for this role include -
Preparing tax returns, financial statements, GST returns, Cash flow statements and budgets for companies, partnerships, and trusts
Fostering client relationships
Other general accounting tasks as required
Assisting clients with Xero set ups and training

Experience & qualifications for this role include -
2 to 3 years accounting experience, preferably in a CA practice
Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably with a CA designation
An understanding of the primary industry would be advantageous
Experience in working in an accountancy office
Experience with Xero (desirable)
Strong technical and taxation skills
Great attention to detail with the ability to work independently as well as within a team
Strong experience & skills in Excel and Word

Hours & remuneration will be worked through with the right candidate
