The City Rail Link (CRL) Project is a game changer for Auckland and is the largest transport infrastructure project ever undertaken in Aotearoa. The CRL consists of twin 3.45km underground railway tunnels connecting Waitematā Station (Britomart) with a redeveloped Maungawhau Station (Mt Eden) on the Western Line, via two new underground stations: Karanga-a-Hape Station at Mercury Lane and Beresford Square, and Te Waihorotiu Station in Albert Street.

Te Tūranga | The Role

We are looking for a communications professional for a 6-month Fixed Term contract of 20 hours per week to support our Communications Team through a critical phase of the project.

Key responsibilities include:

• Content creation, including regular project newsletters and project videos.
• Event planning and support.
• Community engagement support, including responding to public queries.
• Corporate communications, including corporate documents, official correspondence and internal communications.
• Creating engaging communications to mark major project milestones as they occur.

We are a small team with big deliverables so working collaboratively is key for us. We’re looking for someone with broad communications experience who is prepared to get stuck in and support the wider team on a range of activities.

Ou Pukenga | About You

The work is varied and complex, so we are looking for someone who is bright, personable, highly organised and solutions focussed:

• 2-5 years’ experience working in communications at central/local government level.
• Exceptional communication & stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to focus on the big picture to provide pragmatic and timely advice.
• Great attention to detail.
• Preferably tertiary qualified in communications or related field.
