About The Role

Are you dedicated to building strong relationships and supporting whānau to achieve positive outcomes?  Do you have a deep understanding of Whānau Ora and a commitment to cultural empowerment?

As a Kaitūhono Kaimahi, you will play a vital role in connecting and engaging with whānau, nurturing meaningful relationships, and supporting them to achieve their desired shifts and aspirations. Through a culturally grounded approach and your expertise, you will work collaboratively with whānau members and various stakeholders to advocate for their rights, entitlements, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Foster deep connections and relationships with whānau, community members, and stakeholders.
  • Apply the principles of Whānau Ora in all aspects of your work.
  • Identify opportunities for whānau to access appropriate support services and resources.
  • Collaborate with whānau to develop comprehensive whānau plans and goals.
  • Advocate for whānau within government agencies, schools, and other organizations.
  • Uphold cultural protocols, respect spiritual beliefs, and ensure the wellbeing of whānau members.


Your Skills & Experience.

  • Proven experience in supporting and advocating for whānau to achieve positive shifts.
  • Strong commitment to Te Reo Māori, Tikanga, and cultural competence.
  • Familiarity with Whānau Ora principles and the outcomes framework.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, trusting relationships.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software for case management.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
  • Knowledge of Ministry for Children and Family Court processes, procedures, and legislation is desirable
