About the opportunity
Support work is a diverse and rewarding career, working alongside people through a range of activities and opportunities. We are seeking to recruit for Community Choices services (adults over 18 years, living in the community) based around Hamilton and surrounds.
Support workers do the following:
We require fee for service staff, for shorter hours (the hours will be short and could be here, there and everywhere), who would be required in several locations on any given day, working with people that are independent and require minimal support with most things, but would need to support them in cooking, cleaning, driving to appointments (mileage supplied within reason), use of their own car, and you will have a variety of people we work for under your cohort of supported people.

About you
You need to be mature of thought, confident, adaptable and comfortable working with disabled people. It is important that we employ staff who have excellent, clear, verbal and written English, communication skills. You must carry out personal cares including using incontinence products when required. You will need to be empathetic, patient, confident in supporting and advocating for people in the community.
Maintaining a positive attitude and providing motivation to keep disabled people moving forward on their journey is a key requirement for these roles.
Having a good understanding of tikanga Māori and Te Tiriti of Waitangi is strongly preferred.
You will need to be reliable, healthy, flexible, passionate about supporting others, and hold a full New Zealand Drivers Licence.
