Permanent part-time: 11 hours per week, (Sunday & Monday, 9.30am-3pm).
Additional hours and days may be available, including during summer season late October 2026-late March 2027.
We are looking for a person with a passion for history and people, a friendly and approachable nature, and an interest in expanding their skills to join our supportive team on a permanent basis.
More than meets the eye, Old St Paul’s is managed by the national heritage organisation, Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga. The role includes a variety of tasks such as visitor engagement, guiding tours, retail, and supporting functions and events.
You will be the first point of contact for visitors and an important part of their experience. Our ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service skills, be hands-on, practical, and reliable. Experience in a museum, heritage, or tourism-related role is an advantage.
The role is part-time and includes one weekend day and one weekday per week. Additional hours may be available, particularly for events and over the busy summer season.
Though your primary place of work will be Old St Paul’s, at times you may be offered the opportunity to work at other Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga properties within the Wellington region, so flexibility is a plus.
If you are a great communicator and enthusiastic about building your skills within a heritage tourism environment, this role is for you!
The salary for the position is $58,986 - $67,835 FTE
Applications close at 5pm Monday 6 April 2026.
