Job Description - Social Worker -Family Violence - Part-Time

Te Kowhiringa I The Opportunity 

Our Shine team is one of New Zealand’s leading providers of family harm support and prevention services. We help adult and child victims become safe and stay safe, raise awareness and recognition of family harm.

Working from our central Auckland office, our refuges and in the community; on a day to day basis you will work with clients to ensure that they can achieve and maintain safety. This includes that they have access to the basic needs for family, community & cultural support, financial & housing stability, food, learning & employment; and access to equitable & responsive services. 

This is a part time role -20 hours per week.

Ngā pūkenga kei a koe I Your Skills and Experience 

You are a qualified, registered and experienced Social Worker with proven experience in the family violence sector (5 years+). In addition, you have:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the causes and dynamics of intimate partner violence
  • Knowledge of local social systems and community resources 
  • Commitment to developing and maintaining strong networks in the community
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage competing demands
  • Resilience, tenacity and determination
  • Digital literacy, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel 
  • Able to contribute to an on call roster and work outside of hours from time to time (which will be compensated accordingly)
