The Catering Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and executing a diverse range of Western and international cuisines for various catering events. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and presentation styles specific to Western and global cuisines. They will ensure high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Planning and Development:
Design and create innovative menus that cater to client preferences and dietary requirements.
Incorporate seasonal ingredients and new culinary trends to keep menus fresh and exciting.
Collaborate with clients to customize menus for special events such as weddings, corporate functions, and private parties.
Food Preparation and Cooking:
Prepare and cook high-quality Western and international dishes in accordance with approved recipes and presentation standards.
Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of taste and presentation.
Oversee kitchen operations during events, ensuring timely and efficient service.
Quality Control:
Maintain strict standards of hygiene and sanitation in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure consistency and excellence in all dishes served.
Team Management:
Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants.
Delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Inventory and Cost Management:
Manage inventory, including ordering and stocking of ingredients and supplies.
Monitor food costs and implement measures to minimize waste and control expenses.
Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items.
Customer Interaction:
Communicate with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
Event Coordination:
Work closely with the catering manager and event coordinators to ensure seamless event execution.
Assist with the setup, service, and breakdown of catering events as needed.
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., logistics, sales) to ensure all aspects of the event are aligned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RO350.000 per month
