A senior leadership role with full accountability for the Motor portfolio, overseeing Underwriting, Claims and Operations. The position drives profitable growth through disciplined underwriting, effective claims governance and strong market engagement. The successful candidate will shape Motor strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, optimise reinsurance alignment and foster a high-performance culture across all branches.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Portfolio Performance
Develop and execute the Motor strategy aligned with company objectives and regulatory standards.
Deliver profitable growth through disciplined portfolio management and pricing oversight.
Monitor top and bottom-line performance, implementing corrective measures where required.
Underwriting Governance & Risk Management
Establish and enforce underwriting guidelines, authority limits, tariffs and renewal rules.
Conduct regular risk assessments and quality assurance reviews.
Oversee referrals and ensure accurate documentation of non-standard cases.
Claims Oversight & Reinsurance Coordination
Supervise claims processes, settlements and jumbo loss management.
Monitor loss ratios, treaty limits and reinsurance recoveries.
Ensure compliance with reinsurance inclusions, exclusions and annual treaty renewals.
Market Development & Broker Engagement
Maintain strategic relationships with brokers and corporate clients.
Monitor market intelligence including pricing trends, products and commissions.
Enhance value propositions to ensure competitiveness while protecting profitability.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
Ensure adherence to policies, SLAs, regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Support annual budgeting, performance reviews and operational planning.
Strengthen system controls to safeguard underwriting integrity and governance.
Leadership & Talent Development
Lead, coach and evaluate underwriting and claims teams across branches.
Identify training needs and deliver technical development initiatives.
Promote a collaborative, performance-driven culture aligned with the companys Code of Conduct.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Insurance or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years insurance experience, including senior leadership within Motor.
Proven experience managing teams and driving technical underwriting excellence.
Strong knowledge of motor vehicles, underwriting principles and reinsurance structures.
Fluent in native Omani Arabic and English with strong analytical and commercial acumen.
