Job Description - Oman - Liner Sales Manager

Role Summary:



The Liner Sales Manager role will be reporting to the Country Manager, the role is responsible for leading marketing and sales activities, managing principal/agency relationships, acting as the point of entry for other Gulf locations, and monitoring competition to protect the interests of both principals and the agency.



The position has full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Liner Services, ensuring effective sales, marketing, customer service, operations, and documentation. It ensures consistent adherence to QMS standards and operational excellence to exceed customer expectations. Promoting and selling container liner services, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring seamless end-to-end handling of import and export shipments in coordination with principals, port authorities, and customers.

Location: Sohar, Oman (On-Site)



Key Responsibilities:









    • Responsible for Strategic Planning, Sales, Market Analysis, Tariffs, Commercial Functions, etc.

    • Drive sales through direct client engagement and new business development with shippers, exporters, importers, forwarders, and logistics companies, while supporting sales teams to achieve principal-defined targets.

    • Conduct comprehensive inbound and outbound market analysis and performance reporting to principals, including sales contributions, target accounts, achievement ratios, competitive activity, and the impact of government policies, regulations, and economic developments.

    • Grow market share by maintaining strong customer relationships through regular personal engagement, and manage ocean freight tariffs, quotations, and customer-specific filings in line with company and principal guidelines.

    • Monitor competitor activity through port and trade lane data analysis, recommending and implementing counter-measures in consultation with senior management.

    • Identify and develop new principal or NVOCC agency opportunities to expand market presence and industry coverage.

    • Manage principal/agency relationships across ISS Gulf locations, acting as a commercial and operational liaison, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and periodic performance reviews.

    • Hold full responsibility for agency P&L, including financial performance monitoring, cost optimization, resource utilisation, service quality maintenance, and collaboration with management and teams to implement strategies that achieve targets and improve productivity.




      Candidate Requirements:




      • Good understanding of Port Operations and Port Agency services (3-5  years in a similar role).

      • Proficiency in MS Office application (word, excel, outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and related internal systems.

      • Good communication and interpersonal relationship in managing people, planning, organising and supervising.

      • Local Middle East Port knowledge.

      • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
