Accountant (experience in Australian accounting, tax, and audit)

Job Title: Intermediate Accountant

Client Industry:  Australian accounting, tax and audit services

Location: Philippines (Remote)

Schedule: 40 hours per week 9:00 AM- 6:00 PM AEST (1-hour lunch break)

Position Overview

RecruitGo is in search of an Intermediate Accountant who will be working with our client based in Australia. Our client provides Australian accounting, tax and audit services.

Aside from your established skills and expertise, we are also looking for someone who is honest, reliable, and proactive, can work independently and collaboratively in a team and has great communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

· Maintaining, evaluating, and compiling records of financial transactions of the client in computerized accounting systems

· Keeping financial records, maintaining and balancing accounts using a computerized accounting system

· Ensuring complete working papers are maintained

· Preparing timesheet in order to raise invoices to clients for jobs to be finalized and delivered

· Ensuring timeliness & quality of delivery of job orders to clients

· Supporting senior accountants and management with any accounting, tax compliance, and bookkeeping tasks assigned to them

· Attend weekly workflow meetings

Qualifications

MUST HAVE:

· Basic understanding of Australian tax and GST (mandatory)

· Minimum of 1-year experience in Australian accounting, tax, and audit

· Well-rounded understanding of accounting concepts such as accounts receivable & payable, payroll, reconciling & financial reporting

· Great communication skills in English

· Strong Microsoft Excel skills

· Experience in audit and assurance as well as proficiency in CaseWare

· Proficiency in cloud accounting systems (Xero)

· Honest, reliable, and proactive

· Can work independently and collaboratively in a team

NICE TO HAVE:

· Degree in Accounting and/or CA or CPA qualified

· Proficiency in cloud accounting systems (MYOB and QuickBooks)
