Accounting & Financial Manager

Decathlon Philippines is looking for a ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL MANAGER who is:

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. Improve the accounting processes

• Develop and implement a team strategy that is connected to the country/BU/ group strategy with a focus on strong governance and resilience, consistent with international objectives.
• Actively design internal processes in the area of responsibility, document and communicate to the and stakeholders
• Contribute to constant improvement of the processes in the area of responsibility (efficiency, automation)
• Organize, improve and secure the KPIs of specific sub-processes in the area of responsibility

II. Be an accounting value partner

• Ensure a sustainable and profitable growth of the different Business Units and Business Models in your area of responsibility.
• Perform regular in-depth analysis on financials, ensuring the integrity and financial accuracy of our books and records.
• Represent Accounting and Finance with our business partners through effective communication with in-country business managers, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Financial Planning or with the group partners.
• Alert and play an active role in securing the business and mitigate the risks identified in the area of responsibility

III. Ensure reliable accounting

• Monitor ongoing financial operations within the company, in the area of responsibility
• Responsible for overseeing the annual statutory financial statements process, including management of the external audit and tax compliance 
• Ensure compliance by managing the internal control system's performance and effectiveness.
• Consult, bring transparency to business stakeholders on financial KPIs, figures and processes (finance data oriented)
• Carry out the statutory and economic consolidation for the Group and take part in producing analysis reporting, mainly on the basis of the review using internal consolidation tool
• Ensure compliance with local and group accounting norms
• Perform regular (monthly) in-depth analysis on financials, ensuring the integrity and financial accuracy of our books and records.
• Alert and play an active role in securing the business and mitigate the risks identified in the area of responsibility
• Assist the tax leader in representing the company in front of tax & legal authorities
• Act as point of contact for external and internal Auditors

IV. Lead team and manage talents

• Responsible for the development of the team mates: propose tailored development plans, teach and share.
• Identify the points to improve the team mates and find effective situations/ ways to guarantee the development of those points.
• Identify the talents in the team, give more responsibility and follow up.
• Build an effective, motivated and complementary team.
• Present and promote the internal career possibilities and development plans.
• Involve the team in the external recruitment, listen and take into consideration their opinion, keeping the level of exigency (recruit strong potentials).
• Guarantee the continuity of the team (permanent recruitment).
• Guarantee the good integration of new teammates.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Certified Public Accountant, with at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience (2 years as a manager and 3 years experience in a BIG 4 auditing firm
• Strong knowledge, interest and aptitude of accounting principles and procedures for financial reporting and practical business application
• Excellent communication skills (dealing with different nationalities)
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Has strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
• Aptitude for use of various accounting tools
