Job Description - Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Daily/Weekly/Monthly Team and Tasks Management;
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP);
  • Ensure the completeness and correctness of work across all accounts managed by the team;
  • Facilitate daily accounting activities including accounts receivable, accounts payable and sales tax;
  • Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and related accounting entries;
  • Monthly Clean-Ups and Other Related Compliance Work;
  • Assist in the preparation of clients accounts in a timely manner;
  • Special Projects and Other Ad Hoc Tasks;
  • Generate reports and handle special projects as needed;
  • Actively participate in the hiring and training of new team members;
  • Take responsibility for process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the team.
Communication, Data, And Analytical Skills
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's/College Degree in Accountancy is preferred. Demonstrating a solid foundation in financial principles and practices;
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in an Accounting Management position for a team of at least 10 members handling multiple clients;
  • Must have thorough experience in US accounts receivable, accounts payable, accounts reconciliations, reporting, new accounts onboarding, year-end clean-ups, etc;
  • Solid US accounting experience excellent knowledge of basic accounting and familiarity with US GAAP. Expertise in using Automated Systems is required; proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Bill.com is preferred;
  • Excellent data and numerical analysis and presentational skills;
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high work volume, and mid-shift environment. Willingness to work on extended hours and holidays is a necessity;
  • A good management and leadership perspective is essential; an MBA is advantageous but not a requirement;
  • Thorough experience in an auditing/accounting/consulting firm is an advantage.

  • Encourages pro-activity and involvement from agents;
  • Maintain and update team scorecards for their Performance Review with the Supervisor.
Scope Of The Job
  • Number of direct reports: 10 - 25;
  • Physical and technical environment: Flexible in working on day and night shifts as needed.
