Fund Accounting Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Fund Accounting Manager with a demonstrated track record of leadership in fund accounting, with a focus on reporting and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real estate accounting, although experience in secondary verticals such as private equity or hedge funds will also be considered. This role requires a strong understanding of valuation methodologies across diverse asset classes, particularly within a large real estate portfolio. Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the fund accounting team, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to ensure efficient and accurate accounting operations.
• Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, investor reports, and other financial documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including investment teams and senior management, to provide insights and analysis on fund performance and financial trends.
• Manage the valuation process for diverse asset classes within the portfolio, including real estate properties, private equity investments, and hedge fund assets.
• Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of fund accounting operations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and fund administrators to support the audit and tax compliance processes.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and accounting standards related to fund accounting and financial reporting.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CFA designation preferred.
• Excellent English language skills both verbal and written
• 5-10+ years of progressive experience in fund accounting, with a focus on reporting and financial analysis.
• Extensive experience in real estate accounting is highly preferable; experience in private equity or hedge funds will also be considered.
• Strong valuation experience across diverse asset classes, particularly within a large real estate portfolio.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a self-starter mentality; ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems; advanced Excel skills are required.
• Previous experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote or WFH (Work From Home) environment, with proficiency in remote communication and collaboration tools.
• Strong attention to detail in maintaining organized records of maintenance activities, work orders, inspections, repairs, warranties, and certificates of insurance.
• Familiarity with maintenance-related systems, software, and tools, including but not limited to scheduling software, inventory management systems, and communication platforms.
