The main responsibilities of a DATA ENGINEER include:

THE ROLE

The DATA Engineer is responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of data models, data integration, data processing and reporting solutions. The Data engineer will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to deliver data initiatives that provide the business with enhanced data and reporting capability.

General

• Ability to quickly learn new skills and technologies where required.
• Take ownership and manage business expectations.

Business Analysis

• Understanding of business processes and requirements analysis to deliver functional and practical solutions.
• Data model design and mapping.

BI Environment

• Provide clean transformed data ready for analysis.
• Develop and maintain data documentation and definitions.

Data Warehouse

• Ability to work with snowflake cloud warehouse.
• Develop and maintain data documentation and definitions.

ETL Design and Build

• Design and develop data pipelines and ETL processes using snowflake and data integration tools like Fivetran to ingest data from various sources into our data warehouse.
• Collaboration with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Implement data transformation processes using dbt to clean, enrich, and structure data for analytics and reporting purposes.
• Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Work closely with data analysts and other cross-functional teams to support their data needs.

Quality Assurance

• Identify, investigate, and develop solutions to data quality, performance, and integrity issues.
• Monitor data quality and troubleshoot issues to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data.

Security

• Provision user access to data
• Ensure data security when working with confidential and personal data.

Cloud

• Good understanding of the AWS cloud environment and data related services.

Qualifications and experience:

• Qualified with bachelor's degree majoring in a quantitative discipline such as finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, science, computer science, engineering, or other relevant field.
• Experience working with relational database and administration of Postgre SQL/SQL server platforms.
• Strong programming skills in dbt and SQL with focus on data manipulation, ETL/ELT and analysis.
• Proven experience as a Data engineer or similar role, with hands-on experience in Snowflake,Fivetran, and dbt.
• Proficiency in data modeling concepts.
• Data integration (ETL/ELT) methods and techniques-flat files (CSV, JSON, XML), SQL (PostgreSQL, oracle, MMSQL, MySQL) and API's.
• Expert knowledge of reporting/visualization tools, preferably Tableau server.
• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.

The successful candidate must submit the following pre-employment requirements:

• Scanned copy of valid NBI Clearance
• Accomplished Medical or PEME Slip (covered by KMC)
• 2x2 & Half body picture with white background
• Proof of government numbers (TIN, SSS, Pag-ibig, & Philhealth).
• Photocopy of 2 valid IDs - front & back (government-issued)
• Clear copy of your Birth Certificate (PSA or NSO)
• Accomplished HR Forms & Promissory Note (will be provided by KMC's Onboarding Team)
