Who we are

CHAMP Cargosystems is building systems that power the business of cargo airlines all over the world providing solutions for the whole cargo management chain including reservation and booking management, revenue, handling & customs declaration and balancing the weight of the cargo inside the plane.

What we do

We are currently in the process of building the next generation of cargo management applications using modern and widely use technologies and we are looking for motivated people to join our team of interdisciplinary developers.

What we currently use

• We build backend services with Java, Spring Boot, Web Services and Oracle / SQL Server / Mongo DB
• We integrate with existing core Java Cargo applications via REST APIs
• We build frontends with Angular and Ionic framework for mobile apps
• We deploy to Linux servers, private datacenters, AWS, using Ansible & Maven
• We do continuous integration with Gitlab/Bamboo
• We use Scrum to organize ourselves

What we expect from you

• Perform several roles such as coder of scripts (mostly Ansible) to deploy in an automatic manner our software and supporting tools.
• Organize the deployment process of our software in a way to be transparent, secure, reliable and bug free.
• Collaborate with development team, business analysts and architects in order to gather requirements for the DevOps strategy and CI/CD.
• Translate design and functional specifications into automated scripts; enforce the Company's software methodology and standards are correctly implemented.
• Champion good code quality practices towards reliable, performant and maintainable solutions
• Participate in the technical discussions on project updates/ in resolving technical issues.
• Produce clean and efficient code based on specifications.
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing scripts suite.
• Work closely with Technology Service team in order to shape the virtual machines & hardware for the need of our projects.
• Participate in building a test suite for automation scripts.
• Assist and elaborate the project documentation for automation scripts.
• As a manager, you will be in charge of managing a team of DevOps engineers, to define the strategy of the team in how to approach long terms goals, define the priorities for engineers and run performance evaluation of people
• Coaching and mentoring of the team is also expected from a manager role

What we require from you

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Equivalent
• Must have 5 years' experience in Java & object-oriented programming
• Hands on experience of minimum 5 years with automatic scripting tools (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Understanding in the following framework or technology is a plus: Spring Boot, REST API, Angular
• Experienced in using the following tools – Git, SVN, Maven or similar
• Proven experience working with cloud platforms, VM management in the cloud (preferable AWS)
• Understanding of CI/CD and knowledge of Gitlab & Bamboo tools
• Knowledge with Kafka, NGINX, load-balancer or ELK would be considered as a plus
• Hands on experience in use and administration of Linux OS
• Prior experience in managing teams of people is a great plus
• Be a proactive person and oriented to listen the problems team might have and offer guidance and help when the team needs
• Be in front of the team and decide with the upper management strategies and tactics how to achieve best results for Champ products and platforms
• Know how to install and configure a Linux application
• Experience in SCRUM practices is a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Good command of English language is a must
